POEM: Frissons

Frissons

I filled a space for you
Passed the time
Was a sacrificial lamb to you
Paused my life
played your own
I made our house a home.

You first, me last
My hopes, my dreams,
A thing of the past.

A kiss
A catalyst
"Frissons" you said
You'd never felt more alive
I'd never felt less dead.

You got the last laugh
Walked all over my path
Went back to your old life
Left me with the heart knife

You wanted me
I needed you
We were never gold, never glitter
I'd take sweet revenge if I wasn't so bitter.
