Christina Hendricks for Vivienne Westwood

All-round screen siren and star of hit TV show Mad Men Christina Hendricks has been revealed as the face (and not to mention the body) of Vivienne Westwood's latest range of jewellery.

Hendricks (who portrays Joan Holloway on the show) looks stunning, as usual, and also a healthy role model to have as a spokesperson, a change from the pin-thin, gap-toothed creatures I am endlessly bored of seeing. Her flame-red locks are a perfect match for Dame Viv and her latest campaign.

Womenswear as Menswear

Speaking of Vivienne Westwood, watching her Red Label show at London Fashion Weekend, I happened to notice three coats, meant for women, that I would definitely considering wearing. (The last one in particular - need!)

This has spawned a new obsession of mine, to broaden my purchasing horizons (not too sure if that's a good thing, perhaps my horizons are broad enough?) and find masculine womenswear that I could work into my wardrobe. The gender lines have been becoming so blurred over the past decade, and in a non-trannylicious way, I'm enjoying seeing what designers have come up with.

Along with the VW Red Label coats, the image of Lily Donaldson in these Alexander Wang trousers (above) has been engraved into my memory and they have subsequently become a must-have for me this year. Along with a Marios Schwab shirt with belted collar (below). There must be a menswear version of this somewhere!

Perhaps a phone call to Daddy is in order.

New Obsession Alert III - Jessie J

British recording artist Jessie J seems to have come from nowhere. Catapulted into success with her hit single 'Do it Like A Dude' and her with her follow up single 'Price Tag' sure to storm the UK charts this week, she even has people across the pond falling for her, with the US market notoriously hard to break, could Jessie be the UK's ambassador for new music?

Yes please.

Jessie can currently be seen gracing the cover of RWD magazine

It's not just her music that have got people talking, I have a serious style crush on this girl. Not afraid to have fun, not afraid to look feminine or masculine, her look is young, fresh but, like the attitude, still fiercely sexy. Personally I think this is down to her using many a young designer in her videos, notably some up and coming British designers, in particular my personal friend Hasan Hejazi who has dressed Diana Vickers, Paloma Faith, Marina Diamandis (of Marina and the Diamonds) not to mention HRH Kylie Minogue.

Another topic on everyone's lips is... well... her lips which are fast becoming somewhat of a trademark with fans the world over imitating her latest lip looks.

Whether they're spiked (as in the 'Do It Like A Dude video below)

or mirrored, as they appear in the promo pictures of her second single 'Price Tag' (below)

or even a subtle gold leaf floral detail that is set to appear on the cover of her upcoming debut album (below) 'Who You Are' released on February 28th and available to pre-order NOW.

Jessie J's future is inevitably bright, be sure to follow her and the incredibly talented Hasan Hejazi, who is set for big things in the fashion world, on Twitter at -

Vivienne Westwood Mens A/W 11

Men's fashion week is well under way but I couldn't help but quickly blog about Vivienne Westwood latest menswear collection. The draped, flowing, soft tailoring and the potato sack belting of the high-waisted trousers (which I pointed out as a future trend not so long ago - fashion snaps for me) has been effortlessly intertwined with a subtle sportswear theme that seems to be appearing increasingly as of late. on runways

The turtle neck made another appearance in a menswear show and a wide, long leg seems to be the cut and fit of the season. I will forever be faithful to my blood-clottingly-skinny jeans but I do however like the trousers I'm seeing on runways lately. Baggy, wide, drop-crotch, harem whatever, there's something almost smart-casual about them (depending on the fabric of course) and not to mention, they look insanely comfortable.

These trousers (above) for example, I simply need....

...along with this entire outfit (above).

We're also seeing a lot of orange in menswear, numerous designers have been seen to be using flashes of orange in their collections, or in Dame Vivienne's case, entire outfits.

Also, no stranger to controversy, Westwood agreed to have one model walk the runway smoking a cigar. I'm sure plenty of anti-smoking campaigners will have a lot to say about that.... yawn.

Spirit

The latest issue of Visionaire, entitled "Spirit" is a dedication to the life, times and incredible talent of the late, great Lee Alexander McQueen. A true genius and a true visionaire.

Spirit features such contributors as Mario Testino, Nick Knight, Steven Klein and Queen of Everything Lady Gaga, among others.

Anyone have $295 to spare? I assure you I'm a very good cause.

Life-long Stylists

I need to find a way to persuade Hedi Slimane, Christopher Bailey and/or Rick Owens to dress me for the rest of my life...
I'll look into it and get back to you.

Bal des têtes.

Just a few pictures from the Fall 2010/11 couture campaign from one of Britain's best and only true couturiers, London-based designer Ziad Ghanem, brilliantly photographed by Lefteris Pr and featuring my good friend, Munroe Bergdorf.

His wondrous and fantastical creations have been seen in breath-taking editorials in ELLE, VOGUE UK, Dazed and Confused and Drama magazine, and on the backs of such beauties as Naomi Campbell and Carmen Kass.

His latest couture campaign is a beautifully synchronised symphony of gothic and fairytale. Combining decadent fabrics with luxurious prints and patterns, married with whimsically glamorous make-up (by Michelle Webb), shoes (by Georgie Bee) and accessories (by Sergei Grinko), Ghanem seems to be constantly on the rise, and consistently delivering stand-out collections. Stay tuned.

Hi, I'm Jack and I'm a Burberry Prorsum

Dear Christopher Bailey, I've just studied the Burberry Prorsum S/S 2011 collection - give me EVERYTHING.

Bailey's ability to combine resort wear, sportswear and tailoring is incredible enough, but the inclusion of studded leather and gothic chains is beyond impressive. On paper, it shouldn't work, in reality, it's art. This collection, with its perfectly balanced and aesthetically raw combination of soft tailoring with a hard silhouette, is yet another example of Bailey's genius.

"Eclectic" and "Fashion-forward" are understatements, personally I consider my personal style to be undefined and slightly messed up. Some days I'm in a hoodie, jeans and hi-tops, then the next day I could be in tailored shorts with a shirt, blazer and loafers, then the next day I can be head-to-toe in chains and leather. I've spent an obscene amount of time trying to settle for one aesthetic, but why should I? I can now stop trying to define myself, Christopher Bailey just did it for me.

Thanks!

Here are some more of my favourite looks from the show -

I should really learn how to make clothes...

Aqua

Last Thursday saw the London launch of British fashion label Aqua's new store just off Carnaby street in Central London which I was thrilled to be invited to.
Overseen by Blow PR, the 2-storey flagship store was bursting at the seams with an enormous audience of guests and a queue around the block which included recording artists, designers, DJs, PRs, journalistis, stylists, and other industry insiders.
With a warm and personable welcome into the store, a champagne reception, portions of traditional fish & chips being handed out, and in-house DJ Lady Lloyd supplying the tuneage, the atmosphere was certainly electric and the staff's energy was seriously contagious. You could really feel the pride, excitement and hard work that had gone in to the launch and the collection itself.

And now - to the clothes!

A jumpsuit Tyra would be proud to wear.

The collection is a perfect blend of modernity and sophistication. This brand is exciting, fashion forward, beautifully made and yet still very wearable - a hard feat to accomplish when trying to stand out.
Aqua has established itself as a brand to watch and the brand's success is only going to snowball from here on in. I managed to get a sneak peek behind the scenes to look at future designs, mood boards and cuttings made by the designer and I can assure you that there's lots more creativity and innovation to come in the approaching seasons. (I, understandably, got into quite a bit of trouble for taking pictures backstage, but I assured the team that the pictures are for my eyes only - sorry!).
Aqua's ability to remain simple and classic whilst still being progressive and current will ensure it's future success, and it's desirability will only increase as the brand blossoms and continues to grow.
