POEM: In rooms.

In rooms.

I spend my life on planes, on trains
In cars, in bars,
I spend my life in rooms.

Halls of doors,
Pacing on floors
Bound by walls.
I spend my life in rooms.

Seeing faces, hearing words
Feeling breezes
Hearing birds
I spend my life in rooms.

"Invest in shoes and a bed"
my father always said
"You're only ever in one or the other".
